Text messaging with your iPhone is also quite a different experience. Rather than simply viewing a text screen where the thread is display in reverse order, you will see a graphic illustration like this:

The green thought bubbles contain the messages you send to this person and those in the gray bubbles are their replies. You can click in the white box near the bottom of the screen to type another message. When you do, this keyboard will appear:

And if you rotate the phone 90 degrees, the keyboard will turn with you to make the keys significantly larger:

Then simply type your message and touch the blue "Send" button.

If you receive a text message while your phone is asleep, you will see the message when you press the home button:
